Osteoxfit uses three distinct labels: Osteoxfit Tested, Osteopath Reviewed, and Specification-based expert assessment. The label tells readers what evidence exists and prevents research-only articles from being mistaken for hands-on experience.
Osteoxfit Tested
This label requires the exact product to be physically used under a documented protocol. We disclose product source, configuration, dates, participants, session length, original measurements and photographs. Testing one configuration does not justify claims about every version.
Osteopath Reviewed
Amina Shamsi reviews specifications, evidence, safety interpretation and suitability language. This is not necessarily physical testing.
Specification-based assessment
Editorial conclusions use official specifications, current UK terms, primary evidence and credible independent testing. The page explicitly says Osteoxfit has not tested the product.
Core criteria
Criteria depend on category but commonly include fit range, adjustment, usability, pressure and comfort observations, movement, safety, maintenance, warranty and return practicality. Raw notes are retained.
Before testing, the editor records the question, comparison products and pass/fail criteria. During testing, observations are timestamped and unexpected problems are retained rather than removed from the narrative. Afterward, factual specifications are checked again against current UK documentation. Comfort observations are identified as subjective and are never converted into a promise that a product treats pain.
Minimum record for a hands-on test
A published test record should identify the model and size, how the sample was obtained, test dates, relevant participant measurements, tasks performed, total exposure and important limitations. Photographs should show the actual item where practicable. If firmware, accessories or setup materially affect results, those details belong in the method too.
Category protocols
The common record is supplemented by category-specific tasks. A chair protocol records adjustment ranges, desk interaction, recline, pressure observations and repeated entry and exit. A pillow or mattress protocol records model configuration, sleeper context, adaptation period, temperature observations and trial limitations. Exercise-equipment testing records load, dimensions, setup, progression steps and foreseeable failure points. Electrical comfort products require control, timer, temperature or intensity and instruction checks.
These protocols are published before a numerical score is introduced. A category cannot borrow weightings from another merely to create a comparable-looking number.
Example corrections record
A material log entry should state the original claim, corrected information, change date, source and whether the verdict changed. Typographical corrections need not imply a new clinical review; altered safety advice, product identity or recommendation does. The visible modified date changes only when reader-facing content genuinely changes.
Scoring
Osteoxfit does not publish numerical scores until enough products have been tested consistently with category-specific weighting. A verdict may be conditional without pretending precision.
Corrections and updates
Volatile prices and terms are dated. Material corrections are logged, and modified dates change only when the page genuinely changes.
Independence
Products may be purchased, borrowed or supplied. Source does not guarantee coverage or a favourable verdict. Affiliate relationships are disclosed and do not change criteria.
Final principle
Original evidence must be visible and reproducible enough for readers to understand what was done. If a test is incomplete, the article remains unpublished or retains a specification-based label.
