What’s the difference between sports massage and osteopathy?
Sports massage works mainly on muscles and soft tissue to ease tightness and help recovery. Osteopathy looks more widely at joints, posture and movement to find out why something hurts. If Amina thinks osteopathy would help you more, she’ll tell you.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. Sports massage suits anyone with tight or overworked muscles, whether that comes from running, the gym, desk work or carrying a toddler.
Will it hurt?
It can feel firm, especially on tight areas, but it shouldn’t be more than you’re comfortable with. You can ask for lighter or deeper pressure at any time.
How often should I come?
It depends on your training and how your body responds. Some women come monthly, others around races or heavy training blocks. Amina will suggest what makes sense for you.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. For the massage itself you’ll usually be in your underwear or a sports bra and shorts, covered with towels throughout.
